Sympathy Card for Co-Worker
I made a sympathy card for a co-worker who lost her brother-in-law.
I only used white cardstock and Tim Holtz Distress Inks for this card. The stamps and ribbon were from the Gina K Designs Spring Mix Kit.
I started with a basic 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card. I cut a 5 1/4 x 4 piece of cardstock and debossed using the flourishes envelope with the Cuttlebug. I used Peeled Paint ink to add color, adding quite a bit around the edges. Next I taped a piece of brown stitched ribbon around it and taped it to the base card.
Using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge I cut out 3" and 2 3/4" circles. On the larger circle I added Vintage Photo ink around the outside of the circle. I added a little Walnut Stain ink to darken it just a little more. Using the Walnut Stain I stamped the stitched circle stamp in the smaller circle. With the Peeled Paint, I stamped off the flower stamp twice to lighten the color then stamped inside the circle. Next I stamped the Peeled Paint directly, offsetting a little to create a drop shadow look. With the Walnut Stain I stamped the Deepest Sympathy sentiment. I taped the smaller circle onto the top circle and used foam tape to attach the circles to the card.
